December 9, 2016 - Service Ski NEWS

Hello Service Skiers & Boosters:

Great work last weekend at the Service Snowball!! Thanks to all for coming out to cheer, work various stations, help with the tent (specifically to Paul Dworian who kept it from taking flight!), to Jill & Michael Brubaker for hosting the first spaghetti feed, and to Amy & Greg Schumacher for hosting the parent party! It was a fun night of getting to know booster parents.

This weekend is a two-day race – the Lynx Loppet.

Friday begins at noon and Saturday begins at 11am. Jan takes care of getting information to school for the skiers to be excused. The bus departure times will always be posted on the Service website. www.servicecrosscountry.com.

Each day is looking for one more snack person. Signup Genius for Snacks for future races or just bring something this weekend.

If you are available to help with tent set-up on Friday, that would be great. 10/10:30am is the approximate time for this. Of course, the race being during work time makes it complicated for some to attend. Hope to see as many as possible out there!

Start List – Great to print and know who you’re cheering for!

Tree Decorators NEEDED for the NSAA Solstice Tree Tour

Three high schools have been asked to decorate a tree on the Mize Loop at Kincaid. Would YOU (skiers and/or parents!) be interested in helping making the Service Cougar tree THE BEST of the high school trees?  The boosters will pay (reimburse) for $200 of decorations – lights, handmade ornaments, store-bought ornaments. Lights would need to be the battery operated kind of lights.
Suggested time to decorate between 10am-3pm on either Saturday, December 17 or Sunday, December 18; but you’re welcome to decorate another time. Trees available to decorate are marked with orange flagging. Let Lauri Bassett know that you’re on board. The trees to be decorated along the Mize are marked with orange flagging. Bring a sharpie to the races this weekend and write “Service” on the flagging of the tree you want to decorate. Please tell Lauri Bassett by Wednesday, December 14 so I can let NSAA know if we’re participating. The ski tour is Sunday, December 18, 4pm-7pm; so decorating needs to be ready by then!l
